Webster defines Religion as:

a : the state of a religious <a nun in her 20th year of religion> b (1) : the service and worship of God or the supernatural (2) : commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance

2

: a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices

3

archaic : scrupulous conformity : conscientiousness

4

: a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

The Bill of Rights or more commonly known as the first amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I started with these so there can be no argument to either definition or law. personal set or institutionalized system of attitudes, beliefs and practices. Establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. These are the points and if religious institution were made to physically make available contraceptives to all its members it would be in violation of the constitution. This however is a law which doesn’t require that these institutions do anything unless it wants government money. Then as an entity which wishes that money it must determine if taking that money under the rules established for all it must determine if the requirements interfere with beliefs and therefor not take the money.

If the members are true to their religion there should be no problem. However if these Churches wish to become businesses instead of Religion they should not be allowed to hide behind their religion for the simple fact that there is another religion involved which also can’t have it’s rights stepped on.

Please read the constitution. nowhere in the document is God mentioned. The idea of freedom of religion is not to have government choose your beliefs however it is also there so that religion cannot control your government. Nothing is absolute so the distinction should be that in your head or in youir Church or in some cases in your bedroom your religion rules. In your place of commerce aka a hospital things like the health care law prevale.

I have said this before but it bares repeating Quit standing in congress and telling me that your religion is the religion of the country and we need to have our laws follow it. If you can’t convince your flock to stay with your rules your religion is obsolete or soon will be. In most cases your religion and mine will keep us from meeting in the afterlife( even if you don’t believe in one).

Finally I must say to the born again Christain group. There is nothing wrong with a “cult Chrisianity”. If you would quit lieing and read some history this country was founded by a “Cult Christianity” called the masons. I guess they were wrong because they believed only Christ will be born again.

These posts won’t include all the web sites available. If you network through them and experiment you will create a group that fits your interests. I am picking ones in various areas of progressive ideals. Just like the Democratic party there are many interests and subjects that tie us together a little bit. Just like the party we hope those with other main interests help us and in return we will advocate for them.

If you live near New York you may be interested in Living Liberally where you can join social groups from many aspects like cooking or theater even those interested in sport shooting. In Pennsylvania there is Keystone Progress who’s mission is to provide a strong, credible voice in advancing progressive solutions to critical community problems. Alabama -Left in Alabama Alaska- The Immortal Minority Arizona-Democratic Diva Arkansas-Blue Arkansas California- Last Left Turn Before Hooterville Colorado-Everyday Citizen Connecticut-Connecticut Bob D.C.-The Zaftig Redhead Delaware-Frameshop

If you went to any of the websites in the last paragraph and noticed they’re not all large organization sites Your Right! Many of these are one person news or opinion like this one. It’s easy to find the Daily Kos that may have once been small but are trying to be the Huffington Post (especially since we can soon buy an app for that if Rupert doesn’t get an exclusive first.) Florida-Beach Peanuts Georgia-So Far,So Left Hawaii-Disappeared News Idaho-Left Side Of The Moon Illinois-Progressive Democrats of America Indiana-Lefty’s Last Cry Iowa- A Feather Adrift Kansas-Otto’s War Room Kentucky-Barefoot and Progressive Louisiana-Not Right About Anything Maine-The Alna Erratic Maryland-News Rack Blog Massachusetts-K Marx the Spot Michigan-Trusty Getto Minnesota-Blue Man in a Red District Mississippi-Red State Progressive

I can go to the MSNBC stars blogs ED Schultz, Ratchell Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell (The Last Word), or if you like Democratic light there is Chris Matthews (Hardball) and Republican light Joe Scarborough (Morning Joe). There is really no interaction and most often I get bored with the topic after a few days. These performers will usually report the news with a slant that I favor but then there I am with the problem and no answer. If that were my goal I could be a Republican and get the added emotion of hatred.

To s0lve my cravings a little web searching was necessary. To save others time I thought I would share some of my findings. The first places of interest can be found for a Senator or Representative just by using their last name . which house . gov (example Senator Bob Casey is http://casey.senate.gov/ )or Nancy Pelosi is( http://pelosi.house.gov ). The nice thing about visiting here is that if you don’t ask for them to send you updates they don’t ask for money every time.

If you want to find the progressive blogs or websites your best bet is to start with one and see who the are connected with. Lets star with Oil Change Iinternational. When I go to this website using Internet Explorer it freezes but if visited with FireFox it works well. Oil Prices and energy for all and clean energy. This site has a blog roll (connections to other websites.) The first one is Amazon Watch and deals with energy and pollution in the Amazon. This is logical but one subject and distant. They are also linked with The center for responsible politics(Opensecrets) This is a sunshine site tring to follow the money on both sides, The Understory all the dirt that’s fit to post (as long as it helps liberals), Truthdig is a news website with a progressive point of view. When you visit Oil Change International there are many more links.

Here’s one that is a Fox alike and one that Fox actually does dislike
You can’t be a Christain and a Republican was just a couple of posts but Faithful America is a full time website with this in mind yet still not that faith based one we need. Don’t be discouraged there is Sojourners with daily posts in sections like Verse and Voice. How about a Catholic group that realizes abortion isn’t the only topic Vote The Common Good is just such a place. The National council of Churches doesn’t endorse anyone but many of it’s principles to look for will be found in a progressive agenda

Courage Campaign is an online organizing network that empowers more than 700,000 grassroots and netroots activists to push for progressive change and full equality in California and across the country. Since 1971 there has been Public Citizen Corporations have their lobbyists in Washington, D.C. The people need advocates too. Get Equal and <a href="http://www.thetaskforce.org/"/taget=blank" target>Task Force are gay rights groups Progressive United formed byRuss Feingold aims to build a massive grassroots effort dedicated to mitigating the effects of, and eventually overturning, the Citizens United decision.Progressive in States Network is a multi progressive subject site. Brave New Foundation champians social justice issues

I’ll have more for you next post

I awake most mornings to watch c-span. I have an open mind as long as you agree with me. If you have read any of my prior posts you already know Fox News is not my favorite place to find any sanity. It has finally passed the credibility of the floor speeches in the house. Last year the Republicans screamed that they had no input into the bills that were passed. We who watched know that this was false. In committee they did get to input and like they are doing now it was their way or the highway. Having no power they not only lost while the Democrats worked like an eger beaver and passed a multitude of laws that helped both Republicans and Democrats . Now we get to the don’t waste my time part. This group is also moving at a fair clip their cry is “Reduce the deficit” but their actions are everything else. This congress is telling the public that all the secondary things that if they had run on them wouldn’t have gotten them elected are most important. If they think a bill might get get through the Senate they fill it with amendments that will surely stop it. They will tell you they are the good guys because the other side can stand on the house floor and complain knowing even if a couple of their members vote against it they will still win. Here is the best part they are working on this year’s budget. When we get to October we won’t have had time to change anything for next year. Then we can complain how bad the deficit is again. This next video may not be your exact subject but in the long run it sounds like all of you. After you listen stop wasting my time or like the teachers you are attacking vote yourselves a paycut and an extra penalty for doing nothing with my money that pays you. You may want to turn the volume down

unseen by twistedxstarz
If you want to be reelected come to the floor with a true plan. Lets start with real tax reform. The republicans real problem isn’t the Tea Party. Sarah and Michell will take care of them. They will keep opening their mouths ,tweeting and ghost written face book pages and prove to the sane voters that a good mother and a beauty queen looser have good qualities but really can’t lead a country. Their group will vote republican. Michale Moore’s followers will vote Democratic. Ratchel Maddow’s watchers will vote Democratic even if the gay bars don’t open until after the polls close. Glen Beck’s watchers will vote Republican if they dare leave their homes with all of those dangerous people out their or they didn’t run out of depression pills. That leaves forty percent of us for them to get out to vote. The Democrats think were all poor the Republicans think we can be bought.

Paul Hardcastle don’t waste my time featuring Carol Kenyon

It would make things easier if all of us were thinking the same way. Of course you know we don’t so in only a few months you will be out to get our votes. Both sides will will follow the advice of this next video even if you don’t mean it. Now we know the problem and a we know you are not the answer. So keep on what your doing and either we’ll fail or our forty percent will figure it out

Dixie – Tell me something good
