Devising a Real Heath Care Plan

Now the real heath care debate begins. After weeks of Representatives and Senators giving the same speech each time the committee met or on the floor it is time now to really build the bill. I want to give this notice to Nancy and Harry and all Republicans. Your all wrong!!! The right form is single payer. Before you can get to this you must reform Medicare. That really is the first step. You can set fair payment schedules, change the direction from quantity to quality, reduce the number of government agencies, create jobs, install a buy American policy, create real insurance as it was meant to be,eliminate the useless AMA and the extravagant insurance salaries, keep jobs and money in the US... John Boehner: Not Honest On Health Reform

AP: The Republican Budget Would “End Medicare As It Is Presently Known.” “For their part, House Republicans are offering an alternative that eventually would end Medicare as it is presently known.” [AP, 4/1/09]The GOP Budget Would Gut Medicare And Replace The Benefit With A Reduced Health Care Subsidy. According to the AP, “On Medicare, workers under the age of 55 would enroll in private plans and receive premium subsidies equal to the average Medicare benefit when they retire. If You Like Your Medicare Then Beware of the Patients Choice Plan

We are now on page 8 of the patients health care choice bill. A bill that according to those that wrote it will cost  600 billion dollars which is a savings of only 30 billion a year and really doesn’t pay for itself while decreasing coverage for the poor and giving a tax break to the rich. It also damages the Chip program by integrating the poor children into the adults plan. They say that in addition to giving a tax break they will provide enough money to buy a private plan that best suites their needs.(I am ugly and the plan should cover elective plastic surgery. Will they cover this or will they choose which plan you can receive by limiting the amount they will pay? The last time ... Read More

Patients Choice Act or The Believe It or Not Approach

Yesterday I covered the myth of choice in the way health care is administered today. Today I will try and cover the Republican plan called the” Patients Choice Act”. It really should be titled “How to Make Nothing Sound Like Something.“ The very first thing this bill would do to keep government out of health care is to set up a committee (like home land security) to coordinate between the governments health agency’s. This should save money by eliminating duplication of effort. This is to help with changing the American lifestyle and have us eat better, exercise more and quit smoking. (I wonder if they will pay for this with tobacco taxes?) This group will submit... Read More

Why You Can’t Trust Conservatives With Your Health Care

Some of the information in this article came from 2000 which is very important to the discussion today. The first thing you will notice is that for the next eight years this problem while still growing was ignored by the government. You will also notice that the very things the Republicans are telling us to do were shown not to work in the report they had compiled. These are the same group of politicians that are considered the party better at national defense. Before I go into the main purpose of this I would like to digress to a short article in the Air Force Times that shows a side of this discussion that has been ignored. Today the Republicans offered their health plan. Waiting until the... Read More
