The Baseball season is over now that the Yankees have defeated my Phillies.  So now the nation will turn its attention to football. The  true baseball fan will still be alive . There is always the winter leagues, the Mexican league and all the south American teams that play all winter. There will be negotiations,trades,free agent signings, the draft and for the hard core college and minor league recruitment. Some teams will excite their fans with a new player ment to save the team and carry them to the World Series. Other teams will replace their manager or place the blame on some poor pitching, hitting or third base coach and replace them. The National Pass Time never sleeps and for the real fan the winter is when they are plugged into the excitement charger.

The number of people involved in baseball might surprise you. There are those that play in local leagues and those with children that play. Good Christmas Present Ideas for these folks just might be something small like a home plate mouse pad or a real major league baseball. The more athletic may will enjoy a new bat, glove or practice equipment. A batting tee so mom or dad can help their child get better.(and when no one is looking practice or improve their own swing.) Maybe the athletic part of baseball has passed us by, for us a t-shirt is just the answer. For the baseball coaches you could get them their own fungo bat or special cap, sorry patience can’t be found in a retail store.
